We started lesson #4, Apples, with a school field trip to Pulford's Apple Orchard in Tehachapi (fortunate for us that the field trip happened to correspond with the exact day we were starting our Apple study=)). It was a blast! The boys were able to listen to the apple farmer explain the different varieties that are grown on his orchard and they saw how the apples were seperated then boxed, and finally stored in their refrigerators. After that we went out into the orchard and picked dozens of their gorgeous apples.
